Veterinary Surgery & Radiology

Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology is imparting theoretical and practical instructions to undergraduate students as per Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course Regulations of Veterinary Council of India. The department is also conducting postgraduate master (MVSc) and doctoral (PhD) degree program.

1. Mandates/ objective of the department: Department has following mandate and objectives:

  • To undertake under-graduate and post-graduate teaching
  • To attend surgical cases in the Veterinary Clinical Complex (VCC)
  • To participate in extension activities of the SVPUAT, and to provide consultancy services to animal owners
  • To conduct research in different areas of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology

2. Infrastructure of the department:

The department has well equipped laboratory facilities to impart quality practical training to under graduate students and research of post-graduate students as under:

  • Laboratory for training in Anaesthesia and Operation - Theatre routines, X-Ray and Imaging Facilities
  • Small Animal Operation Theatre (practical) with preparation room
  • Large Animal Operation Theatre cum preparation room
  • Sterilisation, instrument and sundry room
